Students Gain Insights into Regional Finance and Diplomacy

A group of students from the Hellenic Diplomatic Academy visited the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) headquarters. During the visit, they were welcomed by the BSTDB President and Secretary General, who highlighted the Bank's unique role in fostering regional economic cooperation, particularly in light of recent geopolitical challenges.

Dr. Serhat Köksal, President, emphasized the “BSTDB's commitment to supporting and promoting a more resilient and prosperous future for the Black Sea region. He encouraged the students, as future diplomats, to embrace opportunities for collaboration and contribute to a more inclusive global economy.”

The program included interactive sessions on the legal status of inter-governmental institutions, the economic landscape of the Black Sea Region, and the BSTDB's approach to banking operations, environmental and social sustainability, and risk management. This provided students with a comprehensive understanding, as evidenced by their insightful questions about the Bank's role in fostering regional stability.
