In 2025, BSTDB extended a new SME loan facility of USD 20 million to Armeconombank, an existing financial intermediary in Armenia. With the new medium-term SME funding to support Armeconombank’s activities in financing eligible SMEs in Armenia, BSTDB will promote job creation, income generation and, to extent possible, increasing trade turnover between BSEC countries. The loan marked a continuation of the strong cooperation between BSTDB and Armeconombank over nearly two decades. The first SME facility was extended by BSTDB to Armeconombank in 2008. Since then, Armeconombank received USD 60 million in supporting the Armenian SMEs.
