BSTDB resumed its partnership with Bank Respublika, one of the leading privately-owned banks in Azerbaijan, by providing AZN 25 million financing earmarked for financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The BSTDB facility is intended to cater the capital expenditure and working capital needs of SMEs: Bank Respublika will use these funds to support domestic SMEs, helping them to implement their investment programs and expand operations, and will eventually contribute to the growth of the non-oil segment of the Azerbaijani economy. Financing will be provided in Azerbaijani Manat, hence neither Bank Respublika not its SME clients will bear the foreign exchange (FX) risk.
By reengaging with Bank Respublika, BSTDB will capitalise on its partner bank’s advanced digital channels and extensive branch network that will play a crucial role in accessing multiple SME clients across Azerbaijan. This collaboration reinforces the BSTDB network of partner financial intermediaries in the region and opens new opportunities for Azerbaijani companies to get access to medium-term financing while mitigating FX risks, in line with BSTDB’s mandate to support the SME sector development in its Member States.
