BSTDB has provided a project guarantee to the Greek construction company, Aktor Group (formerly known as Intrakat) to support implementation of the PPP project “University of Crete Student Halls”. The project envisages the construction and operation of student accommodation facilities at the University of Crete.

Together with the senior lenders of the project, the European Investment Bank and Piraeus Bank, BSTDB will support an important project - the construction of student dormitories for the University of Crete. The project will have a positive effect on the capacity of Greek higher education system, attracting talented students from remote regions and providing them with high-standard accommodation facilities. The participation of the Bank in the project reinforces BSTDB’s role as an active player in the Greek PPP sector, which is highly important to the local government and represents a priority for multilateral development banks.
