BSTDB Provides EUR 5 Million Loan to Terabank Georgia to Strengthen SME Finance and Trade
The third SME financing facility under the partnership will expand access to long-term funding for Georgian businesses and support trade opportunities across the region
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is providing a new EUR 5 million financing facility to Terabank Georgia, further strengthening the Bank’s partnership with one of its longstanding financial partners in the country.
The financing will support Terabank’s lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping Georgian businesses gain improved access to longer-term financing for their investment and development needs. The facility will also contribute to supporting trade finance and cross-border trade opportunities within the Black Sea region.
The signing of the loan agreement took place on 6 October 2026 in Tbilisi, in the framework of the “BSTDB Dialogues” event, bringing together representatives of BSTDB, Terabank and the wider business and financial community.
This is the third SME financing facility provided by BSTDB to Terabank, reflecting the continued expansion of cooperation between the two institutions and their shared commitment to supporting private-sector development and sustainable economic growth in Georgia.
Ziya Aliyev, BSTDB Vice President Banking, said: “We are pleased to further strengthen our cooperation with Terabank through this third SME financing facility. Supporting access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises is central to BSTDB’s mandate and to our efforts to promote sustainable private-sector development across our member countries. This new EUR 5 million facility will help Georgian businesses access the financing they need to invest, grow and engage in trade, while further strengthening economic links across the region.”
The new facility underlines BSTDB’s continued commitment to working with local financial institutions to channel financing to SMEs, enhance access to finance and support trade and economic activity across its countries of operation.
“Supporting small and medium-sized businesses remains a strategic priority for Terabank. Through our long-standing partnership with BSTDB, we are able to provide Georgian businesses with greater access to long-term financing, helping them pursue new investments, expand their operations and strengthen their international trade activities. This new facility marks another important step in our partnership and reinforces our commitment to supporting the sustainable growth of Georgia’s business sector,” noted Thea Lortkipanidze, CEO of Terabank.
