BSTDB Welcomes the Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs

Strengthening cooperation in support of sustainable development and the green transition in the Black Sea region

Dr. Serhat Köksal, President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), joined by Secretary General Asterios Tsoukalas and Special Advisor to the President Mehmet Taş, received H.E. Michael Roux, Ambassador for the Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, at the Bank’s headquarters in Thessaloniki. The Ambassador was accompanied by Jean-Luc Lavaud, Consul of France in Thessaloniki and Mathieu Vasseur, Regional Director for Eurasia at Agence Française de Développement (AFD).

The meeting reaffirmed the strong and valued relationship between BSTDB and AFD and underscored the importance of enhancing institutional cooperation in support of shared development priorities. 

Discussions focused on opportunities to deepen cooperation, particularly in the areas of sustainable and climate finance. The parties also exchanged views on potential collaboration related to green bond and sustainable finance frameworks, as well as broader initiatives supporting economic development in the Black Sea region.

 

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is an international financial institution established by Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
