BSTDB co-hosts a Roundtable Discussion “Development Banks: Their Role in the Growth Agenda” with the Greek Ministry for Development

On the occasion of the Thessaloniki International Fair, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and the Ministry for Development, Competitiveness and Shipping of Greece hosted a Roundtable Discussion “Development Banks: Their Role in the Growth Agenda”.

Minister Chrisohoidis, BSTDB President Kondakov and EIB Vice President Kollatz-Ahnen highlighted the role of multilateral banks in supporting sustainable development in Europe and in the Black Sea region, and discussed the growth challenges facing Greece. Panelists representing national development institutions – Austrian Development Bank, Bulgarian Development Bank, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, China Development Bank and KfW of Germany - exchanged views on policy approaches to development finance. The participants debated on how multilateral and national development institutions can improve synergies to help accelerate growth in middle-income countries.

The discussion gathered over 100 participants, including Greek government officials, members of parliament, bankers and businessmen, as well as diplomatic corps and the media.
