NEW SECRETARY GENERAL ASSUMES DUTIES
The new Secretary General of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, Mr. George Kottas, a Greek national, assumed his duties on 15 January 2007. The duration of his term is 3 years.
Mr. Kottas worked for many years as an official of the European Commission of the European Union. His expertise lies in the EU Regional and Rural Development Policies, the EU Structural Funds and the Financial Management of EU programs and projects.
Mr. Kottas holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s Degree on Development Economics from the Sorbonne Paris II University.
He speaks English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese and has a working knowledge of Russian.
Mr. Kottas is married and has two children.
