BSTDB Country Mission to Armenia

A BSTDB country mission to Armenia took place on March 23-24, 2011 to discuss key economic developments in the country and national economic policy priorities in the framework of the elaboration of a new BSTDB country strategy. The new country strategy will follow general objectives set forth in the recently approved Medium-Term Strategy and Business Plan of the Bank for the period 2011-2014, providing for a 2-fold increase in the Bank's portfolio in Armenia over the period, while maintaining the country’s share in the Bank’s operations.
The BSTDB delegation headed by Mr. Andrey Kondakov, President and including Mr. Mustafa Boran, Vice President Banking, Mrs. Orsalia Kalantzopoulos, Secretary General and heads of relevant Bank's departments had meetings with Mr. Arthur Javadyan, Chairman of the Central Bank, BSTDB Governor for the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Vache Gabrielyan, Minister of Finance and Mr. Tigran Damyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, as well as meetings with appropriate departments of the ministries to discuss the Bank's strategy and business targets in the country, as well as the national economic policy priorities.
Mr. Vardan Aramyan, Deputy Minister of Finance and BSTDB Governor for Armenia participated in the Bank's presentation to the Armenian business and banking community. The presentation was followed by a press conference and bilateral business meetings between the BSTDB bankers and interested Armenian banks and companies to discuss cooperation opportunities.
