BSTDB Joined a Communiqué with 28 IFIs on Contributing to Creating More and Better Jobs

News | 14-Jan-2013

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) has signed a joint communiqué with IFC and 27 other International Finance Institutions (IFIs) to work collaboratively to facilitate the creation of more and better jobs in developing countries. With over 200 million people currently unemployed in the world, job creation is central to the global development agenda. The private sector generates 90 percent of jobs in developing countries. The IFIs come together in their commitment to support the private sector by providing finance for investments and advice to companies and governments to help improve the investment climate for private-sector led job creation.

The joint communiqué was issued at the launch of the IFC's Jobs Study on January 14, 2013. The IFC jobs study is available at www.ifc.org/jobcreation.
