Joint Meeting of the BSTDB Board of Directors and BSEC Committee of Senior Officials

A Joint Meeting of the BSEC Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) and the Board of Directors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) took place in Thessaloniki on April 11, 2014. The Meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Andrey KONDAKOV, BSTDB President, and Mr. Branimir RADEV, Minister Plenipotentiary, Coordinator of the Bulgarian Chairmanship of the Organization of BSEC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Participants discussed the institutional strategies of BSEC and BSTDB, focusing on the “BSEC Economic Agenda Towards an Enhanced BSEC Partnership” and the “BSTDB Long-term Strategic Framework 2010-2020”. In this context, the two institutions identified joint priorities and assessed ways to further enhance the visibility of the BSEC family of institutions.

The discussion focused on strengthening the BSEC-BSTDB interaction, including the possibilities for organizing high-level, back-to-back events, establishing a more effective BSEC-BSTDB cooperation; and to further opportunities to undertake joint regional development initiatives.

In order to maximize the benefits of this cooperation, the “Modalities for BSEC-BSTDB Interaction” will be updated. In this spirit, the Bank expressed readiness to provide capacity building support to the envisaged Project Management Unit within the BSEC secretariat in Istanbul. The two institutions also agreed to collaborate more closely on the synchronization of calendars of events, including BSEC Ministerial Meetings and BSTDB forums, to help increase their impact and outreach.
