BSTDB hosted the EDFI Working Group meeting on Environmental and Social Issues

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank hosted in a two-day EDFI working group meeting on Environmental and Social Issues.  Environmental and Social experts from 14 European development banks met in Thessaloniki during Oct 9-10, 2018 and discussed issues of common interest such as climate change and GHG emission reduction in projects, quality of due diligence, environmental and social compliance and performance of borrowers, the issue of decent work, gender, as well as  human rights in development finance.

The EDFI Working Group on Environmental and Social Issues meets  biannually and has the main goal harmonisation of approaches, standards and practices for deeper integration of  sustainable principles in  financing operations  and more efficient mandate fulfilment.
