President Pankin Speaks at the Thessaloniki Summit

Dmitry Pankin, President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) participated in the Thessaloniki Summit, held  on 4-5 November 2021. The event gathered high-level officials, prominent experts and policy makers from all around the world.

Speaking on a panel about 'How Greek Banks can take a leadership role in the Greek Economy', the BSTDB President said that at the time of excess liquidity provided by central banks, multilateral development banks like BSTDB can become the “centres of knowledge",  assess risks,  help in the preparation of projects, and assist in accessing private finance. He also told the Summit that co-financing is the way forward for BSTDB in working with Greek systemic banks and that the Bank is now actively looking for new 'green' projects in Greece.

Interviewed by the Summit’s TV Channel, Mr. Pankin elaborated on the ESG financing and talked and the BSTDB’s raising capital in international markets to support  the environmental priorities of member-countries.
