The Bank Strengthens Commitment to Azerbaijan as a Strategic Hub in the Middle Corridor

During a recent visit to Baku, the President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), Dr. Serhat Köksal, outlined the Bank’s priorities, highlighting Azerbaijan’s importance in the development of the Middle Corridor and the broader Black Sea–Caspian region.

Interviewed by Report News Agency, President Köksal noted that the Bank is deepening its engagement in Azerbaijan, reinforcing the country’s growing role as a strategic gateway between Europe and Asia, while advancing sustainable infrastructure and green energy investments.

Dr. Köksal stated that BSTDB is actively exploring financing opportunities across key sectors, including renewable energy, telecommunications, transport, and logistics. The Bank is engaging with local stakeholders to identify bankable projects aligned with Azerbaijan’s strategic priorities.

He also noted that Azerbaijan will host this year’s Annual Meeting, which is expected to spotlight connectivity, economic diversification, and investment opportunities.
