THE BLACK SEA TRADE AND DEVELOPMENT BANK ANNOUNCES A MAJOR INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN UKRAINE

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), a regional financial institution, will host a business conference "Promoting Investment in Ukraine" on October 2-3, 2003 in Odessa. Following a recent BSTDB Mission to Ukraine, this Investment Conference project obtained the full support of the Government of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Association of Ukrainian Banks.

 

The Odessa Investment Conference will address the issues of promoting investment in Ukraine in the key sectors of energy, manufacturing, agribusiness, transport and port infrastructure. The Conference will also address SME development, an important objective of BSTDB financing in Ukraine. The speakers at the Conference will include high-level representatives of the Ukrainian government, of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and other International Financial Institutions, as well as international investors and Ukrainian business leaders and bankers.

 

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is an international financial institution established by Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Türkiye, and Ukraine. With an authorized capital of SDR 1 billion (approx. USD 1.5 billion, EUR 1.25 billion), the Bank supports economic development and regional cooperation by providing financing, guarantees, and equity for projects supporting public and private enterprises in its member countries. Since the commencement of its operations in 1999, BSTDB has approved financing in excess of half a billion US Dollars for close to 60 projects and trade transactions in the Black Sea region.
