The Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors and the Black Sea Business Day conference in Tirana are presented to the Albanian press

Mrs. Adriana Berberi, Deputy Minister of Finance of Albania and Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) and Mr. Charalampos Tsarouchas, Secretary General of BSTDB, presented on May 6 2004 to the Albanian press the upcoming 6th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and the Black Sea Business Day that will be hosted by the Albanian government in Tirana on June 6 & 7, 2004. The events, which will take place in the recently inaugurated Sheraton Tirana Hotel, will benefit from the high patronage of H.E. Mr. Fatos Nano, the Prime Minister of Albania.
The working sessions of the 2004 Black Sea Business Day will address major development issues in the Black Sea Region which are also of a particular importance for the Albanian economy: promoting infrastructure projects and agro-business, as well as mobilizing investment in the countries of the region. Attendance is expected to come from approximately 20 countries of the greater Black Sea area, Western Europe and the United States. Three Ministers of the Albanian government will participate in the working sessions: H.E. Mr. Spartak Poci, Minister of Transport, H.E. Mr. Arben Malaj, Minister of Finance, and Mrs. Vjollca Ibro, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
Among the official participants in the event will be the members of the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of BSTDB. Invited speakers are business leaders representing industrial and financial sectors in Albania and other BSTDB member countries as well as International Financial Institutions. Confirmed speakers in the Working Sessions include Ms. Valentina Siclovan, Vice President Banking, BSTDB, Mr. Charalampos Tsarouchas, BSTDB Secretary General, Mr. Dino Sinagallia, Chairman of the Infrastructure Steering Group for the Western Balkans, European Commission, Ms. Nina Ramondelli, Senior Vice President, Moody's Investor Service, Mr. Olivier Descamps, Business Group Director South Eastern Europe, EBRD, Ms. Sita Rawaswami, Country Manager, IFC, Mr. Ulf Westergard, Deputy Regional Manager, Nordic Investment Bank, Ms. Grammatiki Tsingou, Director, European Investment Bank, Mr. Steven Grunerud, General Manager of Banka e Kursimeve, a member of Raiffeisen International, Mr. Ahmet Arsan, President Food Division, Yasar Holding (Türkiye), Mr. Costas Masmanidis, Secretary General of the BSEC Business Council, and Mr. Nicolas Efthymiadis, Co-Chairman Stability Pact SECI-Business Advisory Committee, as well as a high level representative from the FAO.
Commenting on the choice of Tirana for this event, Mr. Charalampos Tsarouchas expressed his appreciation for the long-standing commitment of Albania as a founding shareholder of the Bank and indicated that BSTDB expects that the 2004 Annual Meeting and Black Sea Business Day will attract new investors to Albania and highlight the many investment opportunities that exist in a country that occupies a strategic economic position between Western Europe and the Black Sea region.
