BSTDB holds its Black Sea Business Day in Baku, Azerbaijan

On the occasion of its Eight Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors, the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank organized on June 12, 2006, in Baku (Azerbaijan), its major business generation event, the Black Sea Business Day. The event was organized under the auspices of the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic and with the support of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation.
The discussions of the Business Day focused on the role of the financial sector in the economic development and the investment opportunities in agribusiness and food processing, as well as on the infrastructure development in the region.
The conference attracted over 250 participants representing regional investor and business community, Governments of the BSTDB member states as well as international financial institutions and donors, . The conference offered a good opportunity to interested companies, investors and bankers to discuss investment projects in Azerbaijan and in the wider Black Sea region.
Loan agreements between the BSTDB and three Azeri commercial banks – Kapital Bank, Azerdemiryolbank and Technikabank - were signed at the Business Day.
