BSTDB President awarded the PABSEC Medal of Honour

Ihsan Ugur Delikanli, President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), was awarded the Medal of Honour by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) for his outstanding contribution to PABSEC’s activities. The Medal, the first one to be received by a BSTDB President, was handed by Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of PABSEC at the BSTDB Headquarters.
Praising President Delikanli’s contribution to the implementation of PABSEC’s strategic objectives, Mr. Asaf Hajiyev, said: “The Black Sea region is characterized by strong cooperation of all countries and people around it. I would like to highlight the very positive role of President Delikanli, who vigorously promoted the cooperation between all BSEC bodies.”
Accepting the Medal of Honour, Mr. Delikanli said “I am accepting this Medal on behalf of the Bank’s management and staff who worked together with PABSEC colleagues to strengthen our cooperation. Together, we have succeeded to bring this cooperation to a new higher level. This distinction should operate as a further incentive and as a “raising of the bar” as regards our sense of duty to the Region and its people.”
PABSEC established the Medal of Honour on the occasion of the Assembly’s 25th anniversary celebrated in May 2018. The Medal represents the Assembly’s highest distinction and is offered to Speakers of Parliaments and other personalities for their outstanding contribution to the Assembly’s activities.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) is composed of the Parliaments of 12 member-countries, including Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine. The Assembly’s role is to secure the understanding and adoption by the peoples, of the ideals and aims of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC); to provide a legal basis for economic, commercial, social, cultural and political cooperation among the member countries; to enact the legislation needed for the implementation of decisions taken by BSEC ; to provide assistance to the national parliaments so as to strengthen the parliamentary democracy; to promote the cooperation with other international and regional organization.
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is an international financial institution established by Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Türkiye, and Ukraine. The BSTDB headquarters are in Thessaloniki, Greece. BSTDB supports economic development and regional cooperation by providing loans, credit lines, equity and guarantees for projects and trade financing in the public and private sectors in its member countries.
