BSTDB Hosts an Exhibition of Contemporary Bulgarian Art
Press Release | 18-Sep-2018
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) will host an exhibition of contemporary Bulgarian artists Vezhdi Rashidov and Nikolay Yanakiev from 27 September to 10 October, 2018 at the Bank’s premises in Thessaloniki. The exhibition will feature about 35 paintings of the artists, whose work has achieved much international recognition and large scale critical acclaim.
Internationally well known for his sculptures, Vezhdi Rashidov presents some of his lesser known watercolour paintings. Delicate and diverse as human emotions, his works balance the lightness of form and colour and the power of expression in a unique artistic expression.
The paintings of Nikolay Yanakiev depict intense manifestations in line with bold geometric patterns, while the colour palette and the aesthetics of his work are inspired by the rich artistic tradition of Bulgaria.
The exhibition will be curated by Aliki Tsirliagkou, an independent art historian.
