Position Purpose
The Officer leads the work of the Business Information Services unit and coordinates the search and provision of business information to Bank’s user offices and departments.  The Officer provides working level supervision to the position of Associate, DER.

The Officer also handles the preparation and production of all corporate publications, coordinates the maintenance of the information content and update of the corporate website, provides backup support to marketing and promotional activities and maintains related internal and external communication.

Key Functions and Responsibilities 
Under the supervision of the Director, DER:
The Officer plans, prioritizes and coordinates/administers the activities of the Business Information Services unit in providing business information and in performing compliance checks:

  • Coordinates the activities of the Business Information Services unit and processes Bank-wide information requests with emphasis on banking operations and financial analysis, thus forming a solid basis for informed decision-making in the project preparation process.
  • Provides expert guidance to the BSTDB staff in locating electronic and printed sources and ensures that the business intelligence hub of the Bank is updated and meets the needs of the users. 
  • Coordinates the performance of compliance checks for prospective and existing clients focusing on providing accurate information on financial integrity and the reputation of the client.

The Officer organizes and coordinates the preparation and production of all corporate publications. He/she serves as an interface between different Bank’s teams/authors and external contractors. More specifically:

  • Handles the production of the Bank’s Annual Report and business brochures.
  • Serves as Content Administrator of the Bank’s website, which involves coordinating working groups and inputs of staff with responsibility for website areas and assisting in decision-making for content development and improvement of the website.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns, handles the distribution of corporate publications, and maintains corporate business contacts database.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • First-level University degree, or equivalent, in economics, information/library sciences, humanities, business administration, marketing or statistics.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages.
  • At least 5 years of directly relevant work experience. 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • A master’s degree in economics, information/library sciences, humanities, business administration, marketing or statistics.
  • Knowledge of business information sources, such as Factiva, EMIS, World Check, etc.
  • Knowledge of information services provided by rating agencies – Standard and Poor’s, Fitch, Moody’s.
  • Knowledge of latest web-related applications and desktop publishing techniques.
  • Knowledge of the KYC process and compliance checks at an international financial institution.
  • Experience with corporate publications and website maintenance.
  • Experience with the planning and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Relevant work experience in the region of the BSTDB’s operations.
  • Relevant work experience in an international development financial institution.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
For a candidate to participate in the competitive selection for this position, s/he must meet at least the following minimum requirements:

Education: First-level university degree, or equivalent, in economics, information/library sciences, humanities, business administration, marketing or statistics; or a first-level university degree in any other area followed by a postgraduate degree in the above areas.

Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience
