Description and Purpose of the Operation:
The proceeds of the Facility will be used by NBD Bank exclusively for the purpose of financing sub-loans that meet agreed eligibility criteria. The Loan aims to contribute towards expanding of the Borrower’s SME lending program to small and medium sized business and further support investment and working capital needs of SMEs.

Due to the Borrower's well-established market presence and strong commitment to develop SME lending, the Loan will represent an excellent mechanism for BSTDB to support development and expansion of small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs, which cannot be otherwise accessed by BSTDB directly. The financing is expected to increase economic activity, create employment and further stimulate export capacity and competitiveness.
Environmental Classification and Impact (summary):
According to the Bank’s environmental screening the Operation has been assigned category FI. The Borrower is an existing Client of the Bank and generally the accumulated experience in terms of how Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) issues associated with SMEs are dealt with has been positive. The Borrower has adopted a corporate Environmental Policy consistent with the Bank’s requirements and also has developed Environmental Assessment procedures which are well integrated in the overall portfolio management.
