Description and Purpose of the Operation:
A loan of EUR 20 million is granted to Center-invest Bank to be used exclusively for the purpose of providing SME sub-loans to eligible clients. The facility aims to contribute towards expanding of the SME lending program of one of the leading banks on the SME lending market in Russia and thus facilitate the access to finance for small and medium sized private businesses and entrepreneurs.

Due to Center-invest Bank well-established market presence and strong commitment to expand its SME lending program, the Loan will represent an excellent mechanism for BSTDB to support the development and expansion of small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs in Southern Russia, including the Black Sea region, which cannot be otherwise accessed by BSTDB directly. Center-invest Bank is one of the leading Russian banks in terms of SME financing and is one of the leading financial institutions in Southern Russia and can easily be reached by SME companies.
Environmental Classification and Impact (summary):
Center-invest Bank has adopted an Environmental Policy and comprehensive Environmental Procedures satisfactory to BSTDB and integrated them into loan appraisal and monitoring process. The bank is required to undertake environmental assessment of its sub-loans to SMEs to assure compliance with the BSTDB and national environmental requirements.
