This operation involves a USD 25 million lending facility with JSC Basisbank, for on-lending to eligible small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and green financing. Environmental Classification and Impact (summary):

Basisbank’s existing E&S capacity is considered adequate for managing the proceeds of the Green Credit in line with its intended use. The guidelines and eligibility criteria for the Green Credit line are clear and comprehensive, and do not require specialized expertise beyond the Bank’s current capabilities. The operation will support the climate objectives of BSTDB by reducing portfolio emissions, increasing financing for climate-positive activities, and contributing to the decarbonization of Member States’ economies
