Financing sub-loans made by Borrower for the purpose of extending short-term pre- shipment and/or post shipment export and/or import financing to those customers in Georgia who import goods from or export goods to other Member Countries of BSTDB. The Borrower may use up to 50% of the Facility Amount to provide such financing to those or its customers who export goods to non-Member counties.

The development of the bank was closely linked with enhancement of service quality and adapting western banking practices.

In the interest of facilitating economic development in member counties, BSTDB wants to support local financial intermediaries, i.e. Bank Republic, and help this important sector of the economy grow. While BSTDB funds helped BR support additional Georgian production of export, import financing to those of its clients supported export of goods produced in the BSEC region to Georgia.
